I’m the lead bassist for League of Souls.  Cool name, huh?  I thought of it.  We play a lot of local clubs.  We’re at the Cowboy Café, like, every weekend.  Hey.  It’s not a country place.  That’s what makes it so cool.  All the locals know it’s a rock house.  That’s all we do.  Hard rock.  We got a CD.  It’s got four songs on it.  One’s a cover, but the other three are ours.  So, like, we’re rockin’ out, and these cowboys come in.  It happens, like, every night.  It is freakin’ hilarious.  But you know, some of them stay and rock out with us.  I gotta say, they can be some pretty cool dudes.  Ya never can tell.  But here’s the thing.  Our lead guitar guy… man, he can wail.  He gets up in the microphone screaming… it’s intense.  The crowds just eat that stuff up.  So, he’s going to college.  In Memphis.  Like, there goes the band.  I said to him, “Man, you can’t do that.”  You know, he never really believed in the band.  It was just a way for him to meet chicks.  I like the chicks too.  But, like, he was always telling us how it was all about the music.  Like that’s what really matters in life.  It was bull.  I mean, we could’ve done something.  So now, like, I’ve been trying to find me another band, but most of them are set.  Guys been together for a long time.  Hell, we were together since junior high.  Yeah, I’ve picked up a few gigs, but… naw, I ain’t.  I mean, why am I lying to a microphone?  I ain’t done nothin’ since we closed out the Café three weeks ago.  I got a job.  I cook down at Burger Bob’s.  I’ve been there now for two years.  I like Bob and all.  He schedules around my gigs.  But now there’s no gigs.  And Bob knows it.  I mean, I’d do studio work.  What I’m wondering is, I know this is just a recording and all, and you don’t know me for squat, but I’m thinkin’ you might know somebody.  You might know of somebody who needs an electric bassist.  I have my own equipment.  I could audition for ‘em, man.  I already got a tape.  So, you know, I could just send it on.  I just need to know where.  So, if you do, could you give me a call?  My number’s --- -----.
