Selective Deism is roughly defined as the ability
to hold contradictory beliefs simultaneously, or not at all. To quote Tupidsay, it is a “theology of convenience.”
Selective Deists believe that the path toward inner peace, enlightenment, and eternal salvation lies in the ability to ignore
anything that is inconvenient, incongruent, or just too much bother. For instance, a Selective Deist may practice headhunting
when annoyed by his neighbor, but then invoke the Christian doctrine of forgiveness when the police arrive. It is estimated
that there are seven billion practicing Selective Deists on the planet.
