533 Full Moons, More or Less

The Holy Grail Press is dedicated to promoting work that standard publishers... you know, those with standards, might be reluctant to publish, which pretty much leaves poetry.  And let's face it:  No one publishes poetry.  So in the end, we’re left with a lot of free time.

A New Feature

The Reverend Bob Bidwell, the Religious Editor here at HGP, has so graciously agreed to stop bothering us if we allow him to publish some of the few letters he receives.  This, then, is what he hopes to be the first of many in what we have both agreed to call, “Ask Brother Bidwell.”  Aside from appearing here, these essays will be archived under “Hell Bound.”

Ask Brother Bidwell

Recently a young woman came to me having a crisis of faith.  She asked upon me, “Reverend Bidwell, it seems to me that if only two people had the exact same beliefs, well, that would be weird.  But for millions to not only have the exact same beliefs, but to want to believe exactly as others do to begin with, is insane.”  Insane, she said!

Well, first of all, let me extend the Lord’s blessing unto that young lady, because even though she is wrong, it doesn’t mean that God doesn’t love her any less, and though we may not be able to understand the intents and actions of our Lord, being damned to hell is an extension of God’s love and mercy.  Praise be.

I would’ve told that young lady, had she not run from the building, that there is only one standard for truth.  Indeed, how else could it possibly be so?  Is it then not surprising that so many learned men have found that truth?  And is it not surprising that millions who knew they weren’t as smart as those wise men accepted what those wise men said without question?  Not even questioning just how wise those men might be?  Praise be.  We should not be surprised, then, when millions of people believe the exact same thing.  Yea!  We should be reassured.  For the Lord is our Sheppard.  Therefore, shouldn’t we all strive to be more like sheep?

Hallelujah and Amen,

The Reverend Bob Bidwell
